A District man is behind bars months after a hit-and-run injured two people in Virginia, police say.
Zai Atwater, 24, was arrested and is facing multiple charges in connection with a December 2025 crash that left two with injuries, the Arlington Police Department announced on Wednesday, Feb. 25.
According to police, shortly after 7:15 p.m. on Dec. 18, 2025, officers were called to the 1100 block of N. Glebe Road, where there was a reported crash with injuries.
The investigation found that Atwater and his victim were each driving on I-66 when they got into a dispute.

A road rage crash involving a motorcycle carrying a child has led to charges against a Maryland woman, Upper Allen Police announced on Wednesday, Feb. 11.
Amya Steele, 23, of the 600 block of Cheraton Road in Baltimore, was charged following the incident on the 1900 block of South Market Street in Upper Allen Township, police said.
Officers were dispatched for a crash involving a motorcycle on Saturday, Oct. 11, 2025, according to the release. The operator of the motorcycle was an adult man, and an 8-year-old girl was riding on the back at the time of the crash, police detailed.
