Stray Tire From Pickup Kills DC Woman On I-495 In Maryland: Police A 59-year-old District woman was killed when a tire flew off a pickup truck and smashed into her SUV on the Beltway, Maryland State Police said. Troopers responded at about 1:50 p.m. Monday, Aug. 18, to I-495 near Medical Center Drive in Largo, according to investigators. The victim was identified as Tammy Lynn Edwards, who was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. Investigators said the rear driver-side tire of a Dodge Ram 1500 separated while it was traveling northbound. The tire bounced into the southbound lanes and struck a Lexus NX200t. Damarion Jones, of Largo, was arrested and charged in connection with the July 6 fatal shooting of J’len Livingston, 21, of Clinton, according to the Prince George’s County Police Department. Fatal Crash Kills Two On I-495, Maryland State Police Say A teenager is among the two killed in a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 495 on Saturday, July 13.  Quintin Barnes, 37 of Reisterstown, MD, and a passenger 19-year-old Jasmine Jeffries, were riding a Harley Davidson motorcycle north on I-495 "when for reasons unknown, struck the rear of the Dodge," as police stated in the release.  Maryland State Police Forestville Barrack were called to the scene near  Branch Avenue around 8 p.m., according to the release.
