A woman was hospitalized after flames tore through her Charles County home, causing an estimated $280,000 in damages, fire officials said. The blaze broke out shortly before 9 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 21, at a single-story home in the 8200 block of Gilroy Road in Nanjemoy, according to the Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office. Two residents of a Washington County home were hospitalized after a kitchen blaze broke out, according to the Maryland Fire Marshal. A 34-year-old woman got an unexpected wakeup call from her neighbor on Saturday morning when she was stirred by the pounding on her door that alerted her to a fire inside her Harford county home.
