A Maryland student was arrested for bringing a loaded handgun to his high school on Tuesday, March 12, police said. Josue Rivas, 18, of Gaithersburg, was charged with underage possession of a firearm, possession of a loaded handgun, and possession of a dangerous weapon on school property after bringing the weapon to Gaithersburg High School, according to Community Engagement Officers from the Gaithersburg Police Department. An arrest warrant has been issued for a Clinton teenager accused of taking a gun onto school property, authorities say. The 17-year-old boy was stopped by Prince George's County Public Schools security personnel for suspicions of having illegal drugs at Surratsville High School, around 1:30 p.m., Monday, Sept. 26, according to Prince George's County police. A 15-year-old gunman has been taken into custody after shooting two students near a public charter school in Washington DC, authorities say. The shooting reportedly occurred in the 4500 block of Lee Street near the intersection of 45th Street around 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 31. A suspended student in Maryland who was playing hoops on school grounds was busted with an illegal weapon after being asked to leave the area, the Charles County Sheriff’s Office announced.
