A man who was found with a suspected improvised explosive device (IED) after breaking into his ex-girlfriends home is behind bars and facing serious charges, according to the Office of the Maryland Fire Marshal. Andrew Ervin Romack, 62, was arrested following a joint investigation by the fire marshal and Maryland State Police following a reported burglary earlier this week at an Allegany County home. Disaster was largely averted on Monday morning when there was a reported explosion and fire inside a Cecil County home. First responders were called at around 9 a.m. on Oct. 21 to a home on Budds Landing Road in Warwick, where they were met with smoke emanating from the roof of the home. More than two dozen cars were damaged by a fast-moving fire in a Cecil County lot overnight, according to investigators. Shortly before 10:40 p.m. on Sunday night, firefighters were called to Innovative Auto Auction (IAA) on Zeitler Road in Elkton, when a passerby reported seeing flames to the Singerly Fire Company. The fire sparked at 9:06 p.m., but wasn't called in until 10:39 p.m. on June 30, officials noted. Several children are among six who were displaced early on Tuesday morning when a fast moving fire tore through a Harford County home. A team of more than two dozen firefighters from the Joppa-Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company and neighboring agencies were called shortly before 6:15 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 28 to the 1100 block of Shady Drive in Edgewood when a fire broke out in an area bedroom. A quick-thinking Maryland homeowner was able to limit the damage done to a Harford County home when an early morning blaze broke out, according to the Office of the Maryland Fire Marshal. Shortly before 4:30 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 30, a neighbor on Maulsby Avenue in Bel Air alerted firefighters to a possible incident on the front porch of a nearby home, officials said.
