A Maryland community came together to help clean up hateful graffiti that was found spray painted outside a Montgomery County elementary school. Anti-semitic imagery was found on a sign at the Bethesda Elementary School on Arlington Road, though crews and neighbors were quick to clear the paint on Sunday morning. Man Convicted Of Paralyzing Officer During Traffic Stop Shooting Denied Parole: Police
The man who shot a Montgomery County Police officer more than two decades ago and left him paralyzed has been denied parole, according to officials. Terrence Green, who shot Officer Kyle Olinger during a traffic stop in Silver Spring in August 2003, will stay behind bars, authorities announced on Tuesday afternoon. Olinger was shot in the neck during the stop, which left him with a severed spinal cord, leaving him paralyzed from the chest down. The Montgomery County Police sergeant who was run down by a reckless driver well known to the department has lost the use of both of his legs. Sgt. Patrick Kepp is hospitalized in critical condition on Wednesday afternoon after 19-year-old Frederick Rafael Mayorga took police on a wild ride and intentionally struck him in a green Dodge Charger while speeding on I-270, something he is known to do, according to Police Chief Marcus Jones. A beloved former member of the Rockville Police Department has passed away, announced officials. Former Lieutenant Alan Rawlins died in the early morning morning hours of Wednesday, Oct. 5, according to the Rockville Police Department. Rawlins serviced with the RCPD for 27 years, from April 1986 until July 2013. Even after his retirement, he remained a friend and devoted member of the Rockville community.
