Driver Who Dragged Police Officer During Maryland Traffic Stop Gets Max Prison Sentence
The man who seriously injured a Baltimore Police officer he dragged for several blocks while he was hanging on to his vehicle was handed a harsh sentence, authorities announced on Wednesday. Joseph Daniel Black, who dragged Sgt. Kenneth Ramberg during a vehicle stop in 2022 has been sentenced to 10 years in prison, the maximum sentenced allowed by law. Black was convicted of second-degree assault at a re-trial in June following a hung jury in December 2023 at his initial trial. A 22-year-old White Plains man charged with murder after deputies found a person stabbed to death in the trunk of his car in Charles County has been convicted following a 10-day trial.
