Fire Displaces Dozens Of Patients From Perry Point VA Medical Center In Maryland Dozens of patients at the Perry Point VA Medical Center in Maryland were displaced overnight by a blaze that broke out in the building, according to the Fire Marshal. Multiple agencies were called at around 7 p.m. on Wednesday night to Building 23H when an accidental fire broke out on the roof. Residents Rescued From Roof Of Maryland House Fire Some residents had to be rescued in Washington County on Saturday morning when a house fire broke out in Hagerstown, officials say. Crews were called shortly before 10:30 a.m. on Oct. 19 to the 200 block of Prospect Avenue where there was a smoke detector that activated inside an area row home. Upon arrival, firefighters rescued occupants from the roof of the residence and were able to knock down the flames and contain them to two of the nine units within the row, though others sustained smoke and water damage.
