There was a fatal pedestrian crash in a work zone along I-95 in Harford County on Tuesday morning, state police say. Shortly after 8:30 a.m. on Aug. 6, troopers were called to the southbound lanes of the interstate near the Maryland 152 overpass in Joppa, where there was a crash involving a pedestrian and dump truck. According to the preliminary investigation, a dump truck in the work zone was backing up with it struck a worker. A teenager is among the two killed in a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 495 on Saturday, July 13. Quintin Barnes, 37 of Reisterstown, MD, and a passenger 19-year-old Jasmine Jeffries, were riding a Harley Davidson motorcycle north on I-495 "when for reasons unknown, struck the rear of the Dodge," as police stated in the release. Some northbound lanes of I-270 were blocked on Monday afternoon in Montgomery County while crews battled a truck fire. At approximately 12:15 p.m. on Monday, June 10, Montgomery County Fire and Rescue personnel were called to a stretch of the interstate near Montrose Road, where there was a truck fully engulfed in flames.
