The Frederick High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) group executed search and seizure warrants in the 1000 block of Monroe Avenue in Frederick and on a vehicle in Hagerstown on Monday night, leading to a massive bust and multiple arrests.
Those charged:
- Jayden Isaiah Stephon, 20, of Hagerstown;
- Christion Sayyid Gill, 26, of Hagerstown;
- Jamil Nicholas Gardner, 31, of Baltimore.
According to the Frederick Police Department, the warrants were obtained "following an extensive long-term investigation into the distribution of controlled dangerous substances (CDS) throughout the region to include both Frederick and Washington counties."
During the execution of the warrants, investigators seized:
- Canik TP9SFX 9mm handgun;
- Taurus PT945 .45 caliber handgun;
- 201 grams of cocaine;
- 258 grams of fentanyl (in capsules, counterfeit M30 tablets, and powder form);
- 1,894 grams of methamphetamine;
- 311 grams of marijuana;
- $50,150 in cash.
"The quantities seized in this investigation highlight a severe threat to public health and safety," a police spokesperson said. "The amount of fentanyl recovered could have led to hundreds of potentially lethal doses, illustrating the dangerous impact of this investigation’s suspects.
"This seizure also underscores the prevalence of counterfeit and deadly drugs that continue to drive the opioid crisis in Maryland and across the United States."
Both Jayden Gill and Christion Gill were charged with multiple drug and firearm-related offenses. Gardner was hit with drug possession charges and served on an outstanding warrant out of Carroll County.
All are being held at the Washington County Adult Detention Center. Additional arrests or charges may be filed.
The HIDTA is comprised of members from the:
- Frederick Police Department;
- Brunswick Police Department;
- Maryland State Police;
- Homeland Security Investigations;
- Frederick County Sheriff’s Office;
- Frederick County States Attorney’s Office.
The investigation is ongoing.
