The investigation into a reported domestic assault with multiple children inside a Charles County home landed a man behind bars overnight, according to the sheriff's office. Hughesville resident Brandon Wayne Blitch, 38, was arrested on Monday night following the probe into reports of shots fired inside an area home. Some residents have been advised to stay in their homes as the Prince George's County Police Department continues to attempt to peacefully negotiate a barricade situation in Langley Park. An alert was issued early on Friday morning advising that Merrimac Drive was shut down between 14th Avenue and Keokee Street, and neighbors were cautioned to shelter in place in the lowest level of their home following reports of shots fired that led to a standoff with officers. There will be an increased police presence in a St. Mary's County neighborhood on Thursday as the sheriff's office continues to investigate following a barricade situation, officials say. At approximately 9 a.m. on Aug. 8, deputies were called to the Columbia Commons neighborhood on Creeping Primrose Lane in Lexington Park, where there were reports of shots fired, according to Capt.
