A Frederick man who pepper-sprayed a mother and her 8-year-old daughter during a brazen armed robbery is set to serve 17 years in prison, prosecutors announced. Nicholas Albanes, 42, was sentenced on Tuesday, Feb. 18, to 20 years, with all but 17 years suspended, in the Division of Corrections after pleading guilty to armed robbery last month. Woman Gets Jail Time For Pepper Spraying 12-Year-Old Child During Disagreement In Maryland
The woman who pepper sprayed a 12-year-old child living with her during an argument is going to spend time behind bars, the Charles County State's Attorney's Office announced. Waldorf resident Sabrina Cocheye Embrey, 51, was sentenced to six months in jail after being convicted by a jury in May on child abuse and assault charges following an incident that escalated with the boy. Graduation Fights In Montgomery County 'Embarrassment To Community,' Principal Says
What started as a day of celebration ended violently when a brawl broke out during a graduation ceremony in Silver Spring. Several fights were reported outside of John F. Kennedy High School in Silver Spring this week on the steps of Constitution Hall, according to Principal Vickie Adamson, who called the incident "an embarrassment to our community."
