Home Invaders Thwarted By Rifle-Wielding Homeowner In Maryland, Police Say A group of home invaders picked the wrong person to mess with on Tuesday night after being met by a rifle-wielding homeowner in Anne Arundel County, police say. Officers were called at around 9:30 p.m. on May 28 to the 1400 block of Colony Road in Pasadena, near the White Rocks Marina and Boatyard, where a 21-year-old man reported that he had been followed into his home by several armed suspects.  Police say that the would-be victim was able to retreat into his home, retrieved a rifle, and fired several shots, causing the suspects to scatter and flee. Threats Take Down Bethesda Schools Like Dominos Threats were being called into Bethesda schools one after the other on Friday, May 17. Walt Whitman High School in Montgomery County was evacuated due to a threat Friday, May 17, around 12:20 p.m., police said. The threat was deemed unfounded just before 1:30 p.m. Twenty minutes later, the Bethesda Elementary School was evacuated due to a threat. The school in lockdown as of 1:50 p.m. At 2 p.m., the threat was deemed unfounded No others had been called in as of 2:50 p.m.
