A twice-convicted sex offender in Maryland who sexually abused more than a dozen minors is set to spend the rest of his life in prison, federal authorities announced on Wednesday. Gary Rocky Jones, 43, of Baltimore, was sentenced by a judge to life in federal prison, followed by a lifetime of supervised release, for the sexual exploitation of 16 minors. A former Baltimore high school educator who sexually abused a minor and filmed it is set to spend decades in federal prison, authorities announced on Tuesday, Oct. 1. William Zev Steen, 46, was sentenced to 23 years in prison, followed by a lifetime of release after pleading guilty to the sexual exploitation of a child. A 25-year-old man who turned himself in to the Charles County Sheriff's Office last year has been convicted by a jury at trial of sexually abusing several children. Katravien Tyrieus Vercher will face 115 years in prison for preying on three minors under the age of 13 over the course of three years after moving into a family's Waldorf home, officials say. A man who sexually abused a teen girl he had known since she was an infant has been sentenced to prison time, according to the Charles County State's Attorney's Office.
