Maryland Man Who Coerced, Enticed Teens Into Sexual Actions Sentenced: Feds
A 40-year-old Maryland man will spend more than a decade in prison after engaging in sexually explicit conversations with multiple minors and traveling to a hotel to engage in sexual acts in Pennsylvania, federal officials announced. Aberdeen resident Anthony Gonzalez was sentenced to 13 years in prison, followed by a lifetime of supervised release for coercing and enticing minors, US Attorney Erek Barron announced in Maryland. DC Area Fugitive Among Most Notable Arrests In Massive US Marshals Operation
A fugitive from the Washington DC area was one of 1,500 individuals arrested in a recent and notable US Marshals operation. Robert Bakersville, 28, who was arrested by the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force for homicide on June 16 as part of Operation North Star, the agency announced. Another 1,700 New Jersey prison inmates are scheduled for early pandemic release this weekend even though COVID-19 "is now practically non-existent" in the state's correctional facilities and crime is running rampant, the president of a law enforcement supervisors union said. NJ Resumes COVID Early Inmate Release Program
As many as 1,200 New Jersey prison inmates and at least 10 sex offenders could be freed during another round of early pandemic releases, state corrections sources say.
