A 13-year-old has been identified as the person responsible or a bomb threat targeting a Montgomery County middle school earlier this year. In March, Lakelands Park Middle School had to shelter-in-place following a threat that was made targeting the building posted on social media. The bomb threat was reported shortly before 8:45 a.m. on Friday, March 15, and ultimately deemed to be not credible, and there was no threat to students or staff. A District man working at a Maryland middle school is facing charges for bringing a gun on campus, officials say. William Broadus Coleman, 30, a building service manager at Forest Oak Middle School in Montgomery County was arrested on Tuesday for possession of a loaded privately manufactured handgun, according to the Gaithersburg Police Department. A Maryland student was arrested for bringing a loaded handgun to his high school on Tuesday, March 12, police said. Josue Rivas, 18, of Gaithersburg, was charged with underage possession of a firearm, possession of a loaded handgun, and possession of a dangerous weapon on school property after bringing the weapon to Gaithersburg High School, according to Community Engagement Officers from the Gaithersburg Police Department. A man has been charged with murdering a 60-year-old in Montgomery County, police say. This week, an alert was issued by the Montgomery County Department of Police as they sought to track down the person responsible for killing Charles Claggett, who was found dead late last month in the 200 block of Old Macdonald Road in Gaithersburg.
