Forecasters are cautioning DMV residents to brace for tricky and potentially hazardous conditions as the latest round of winter weather sweeps through the region. State Of Preparedness Declared In Maryland In Advance Of Tropical Storm Debby
Maryland Gov. Wes Moore has declared a State of Preparedness as possibly wicked weather continues to head toward the region with Tropical Storm Debby continuing to move north up the coast. On Tuesday, while acknowledging "the path is still uncertain," Moore cited "possible effects on Maryland could include heavy rain and winds, inland and tidal flooding," while making the declaration. Maryland Helicopter Aquatic Rescue Team Polishes Skills On Potomac River
The Maryland Helicopter Aquatic Rescue Team, or HART, drew some attention as they were training on the Potomac River, officials say. The team practiced using swift water rescue boats and a National Guard helicopter to make sure they are prepared for rescue missions in the unpredictable waters. The team, which worked side by side with the Maryland Army National Guard said that "every day is a training day", as they continuously prepped for everyday and extraordinary emergencies.
