Man Who Fired Shots At Sheriff's Deputy During Maryland Chase Gets Life In Prison: Prosecutors The man who took officers on a high-speed chase before firing at sheriff's deputies while fleeing on foot will spend the rest of his life behind bars after being convicted of attempted murder and other offenses, authorities announced. Lookman-Khalil Abolajo Bello was convicted following a six-day bench trial on a host of charges for the March 2022 incident that ended with him being shot by deputies returning fire in Frederick County.  This week, a judge sentenced the Hagerstown man to life plus 15 years in prison.
