Man Ran Sex Trafficking, Armed Robbery Ring At Maryland Motel, Police Say

A Baltimore man known on the streets as “RoFo” is behind bars after allegedly trafficking women, robbing his victims—sometimes at gunpoint—and running a prostitution ring out of a Maryland motel, authorities announced.

Robert Bennett Jr., 27, was charged with 47 total counts of sex trafficking, prostitution, armed robbery, theft, and weapons violations in connection to a two-month crime spree at the Terrace Motel in Elkridge, according to the Howard County Police Department.

He is being held without bond at the Howard County Detention Center.

Detectives launched an investigation into Bennett Jr. in November 2024 after receiving a tip about his alleged activities at the motel.

Authorities say Bennett Jr. arranged prostitution dates for several female victims, assaulted them, and stole their money—sometimes at gunpoint.

He reportedly kept control over his victims by supplying them with drugs and making threats.

Bennett Jr. is also accused of assaulting and robbing a man who had received drugs from him, officials said.

Police arrested Bennett Jr. last month, and a newly released video shows the moment officers took him into custody.

Howard County officials say they "remain committed to cracking down on human trafficking, prostitution, and related crimes, with a focus on targeting traffickers while providing resources such as housing, treatment, and transportation to victims."
