Handlebar Dangers Prompt Large Recall Of Several Motorcycle Models
Nearly 20,000 Honda motorcycles are being recalled over a loose screw that could interfere with steering, federal officials said.
American Honda Motor Co. issued the recall for 19,406 motorcycles, according to a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration report released on Thursday, March 12. The issue affects certain 2023-2025 CMX300, CMX500, and CL500 models.
The handlebar lock screw in the recalled motorcycles may loosen and detach, according to the NHTSA.

A 43-year-old Maryland man was killed when his motorcycle collided with a car in Mount Airy, authorities announced.
On Thursday, Aug. 28, at around 6:15 p.m., deputies from the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office responded to the intersection of West Ridgeville Boulevard and the Mount Airy Village Shopping Center for a reported fatal crash, officials said.

Harley-Davidson Riders Hospitalized After Van Crash In Maryland, State Police Say
Two people riding a motorcycle were hospitalized after a van struck them at a Cecil County intersection Monday afternoon, according to Maryland State Police.
Troopers from the North East Barrack were called to the intersection of Blue Ball Road and Dogwood Road in Elkton around 2:40 p.m. on May 12, for a reported crash involving a Harley-Davidson motorcycle and a Chrysler van, police said.
According to a preliminary investigation, the van, driven by Ethel Smith, 73, was traveling west on Dogwood Road when it struck the motorcycle, which was heading north on Blue Ball Road, police said.
