The Smithsonian’s National Zoo closed out 2025 with a rare double dose of good news, welcoming two sloth bear cubs for the first time in more than a decade. Two cubs were born to 6-year-old first-time mother Molly at the Smithsonian’s National Zoo and Conservation Biology Institute, Washington, DC, last month.
