Woman Still Unidentified 11 Months After Philadelphia Crash Now Amputee: Police
A woman critically injured in a crash who remains unidentified nearly a year later has lost a leg and is currently undergoing DNA testing, Philadelphia police said on Tuesday, April 14.
The woman was struck around 1:15 a.m. on Sunday, May 18, 2025, near Broad Street and Wyoming Avenue, according to investigators.
Police say the woman, believed to be in her 30s or 40s, was standing in the roadway when she was hit by a northbound driver, who remained at the scene and was not charged.
When first responders arrived, the woman had no identification — only a receipt from Acme, authorities said. …

Transmission Defect Could Lock Up Wheels, Prompting Massive Cadillac, Chevy Recall
A transmission defect in more than 90,000 Cadillac and Chevrolet vehicles could cause the front wheels to lock up while driving, increasing crash risks, officials said.
The recall affects about 90,081 2019-2020 Cadillac CT6, 2020-2021 Cadillac CT4 and CT5, and 2020-2022 Chevrolet Camaro models equipped with a 10-speed transmission, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said. According to NHTSA, internal transmission damage could lead to sudden wheel lock-up, creating a serious hazard for drivers.
