Pedestrian Killed After Being Struck By Pick-Up Truck, Car In Baltimore County, Police Say
The Baltimore Police Department has identified the 52-year-old man who was killed after being struck by two vehicles crossing the road. Jose Rivas was attempting to cross Liberty Road in the area of Brubar Court in Gwynn Oak on Friday night, when he was struck by both a 2014 Dodge Ram and a 2017 Nissan Altima. The crash was reported at around 9:30 p.m. on Oct. 18. Both drivers stayed at the scene after striking him. Rivas was pronounced dead at the scene by Baltimore County Fire Department personnel. A teenager in Baltimore has been convicted of killing a 27-year-old father while on his way to visit his young daughter, the Maryland Attorney General's Office announced. Parris Harris, 19, has been found guilty of the first-degree murder of Desmond Gardner in January 2023 following a three-day trial earlier this month. A former Baltimore police officer is going to spend time behind bars after admitting to his role in drug and weapon conspiracies, federal authorities announced. City resident Steven Umberto Angelini was sentenced to two and a half years in prison for conspiracy to distribute cocaine and oxycodone and possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime. A suspect has been apprehended more than a week after a 25-year-old man was found dead in Baltimore, authorities announced on Monday. City resident Tyree Wells, 29 has been arrested and charged for his alleged role in a morning shooting that left Jordan Taylor with fatal injuries. A man who allegedly shot and killed his brother following a dispute in April has been apprehended out of state and brought back to Maryland, police say.
