A convicted felon is back behind bars after deputies in St. Mary’s County seized a stash of drugs, cash, and a loaded “ghost gun” during a major raid in Great Mills, authorities said.
Daiquan Malik Barnett, 28, of Great Mills, was arrested Wednesday, Feb. 26, after deputies from the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division, along with federal agents executed search warrants at a residence in the 22000 block of Baja Lane and several vehicles.

Driver Ejected, Killed In Rollover Southern Maryland Crash: Sheriff
A violent crash in Lexington Park left a 59-year-old woman dead after she was ejected from her vehicle when it overturned, according to the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office.
The crash happened around 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 9, near the Crossroads Apartments on Great Mills Road, when a 2015 Nissan Armada slammed into the back of a 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt, authorities said.

A 65-year-old Lexington Park man is behind bars after deputies found nearly 100 grams of cocaine, a loaded shotgun, and more than $100,000 in cash during a drug investigation, authorities said.
James Allen Chase was arrested on Thursday, Feb. 6, following an ongoing investigation by the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office Vice Narcotics Unit, officials said.

The series of events began on Saturday evening, Dec. 21, when Trueman Cross Montfort was driving a tan Chevrolet Suburban on Whites Neck Road toward Bushwood Wharf Road in Bushwood, the agency said.
