A Chesapeake Beach woman who ran a home-based rescue was convicted of animal cruelty after authorities found dozens of dogs living in shocking conditions. An animal cruelty complaint is being investigated in St. Mary's County after a person in an SUV was spotted tossing several kittens from a vehicle, according to the sheriff's office. Early on Saturday morning, a caller contacted investigators to report the incident, after spotting the suspect in the northbound lanes of Route 242 near the intersection of Route 242 in Morganza.
