Tornado Hits Central NY Amid Storms That Killed 3, Including Young Sisters
A tornado hit central New York during storms that killed at least three people, including twin sisters.
The twister in the Oneida County hamlet of Clark Mills had peak estimated winds of 105 miles per hour, traveling 2.43 miles, starting at 3:58 a.m., and ending at 4:03 a.m. Sunday, June 22.
"This tornado unfortunately resulted in three fatalities, due to trees falling into their homes," The National Weather Service in Binghamton.
A tree collapsed onto a Clark Mills residence on Hoyland Avenue, which was home to a mother and her twin daughters, according to WKTV in Utica.

Two people were struck and killed by a MARC commuter train on Tuesday evening, May 6, in Maryland, officials confirmed.
The crash occurred at approximately 6:15 p.m., when MARC Train 875, traveling westbound from Washington, D.C. to Martinsburg, hit two individuals who were walking on the tracks east of the Harpers Ferry station in Sandy Hook, according to Veronica Battisti, Senior Director of Communications and Marketing for the MTA.
“Fatalities are confirmed for both individuals,” Battisti said.

A crash involving a tour van and pickup truck near Yellowstone National Park has resulted in at least seven fatalities and eight injuries.
The incident happened around 7:15 p.m. Thursday, May 1, in eastern Idaho, along Highway 20.
Six passengers and the driver of the van, which was carrying 14 people, died in the crash, according to Idaho State Police.
The identities of the victims have not yet been released.

James Henry Walker, 43, of Dickerson, was behind the wheel of a 2015 Toyota Camry on a suspended license when he crossed the center line on Buckeystown Pike and slammed into a 2014 Hyundai Sonata, the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office said.
