A 54-year-old man is wanted for escape after ditching his electronic monitoring device while out on a pretrial release in St. Mary's County for violating a protective order. An alert was issued by the sheriff's office on Monday, Aug. 12 regarding Anthony Terrell West, who removed his GPS monitor late last month after being released from the county's Detention and Rehabilitation Center in Leonardtown. A Maryland community came together to help clean up hateful graffiti that was found spray painted outside a Montgomery County elementary school. A group that preyed on the unhoused community during a series of violent assaults in Montgomery County earlier this month remains at large two weeks later, police say. Surveillance video of six wanted suspects who attacked at least three men and one woman has been released as investigators attempt to identify and locate those involved.
