Murder Charge Dropped For Maryland Mom Keeping Kids In Filth: Authorities
A murder charge was dropped for a Maryland mom after her teenage daughter died and five of her other children were found living in filth, authorities said.
Cynthia Moore, 41, of Montgomery Village, was found guilty by a judge of six counts of child neglect following a seven-day bench trial, the Montgomery State's Attorney's Office announced Wednesday, Oct. 16.
Moore was initially indicted on charges of second-degree depraved heart murder, involuntary manslaughter, and child neglect, as was her husband, Dominique Moore, 46. Domonique is scheduled to go to trial next month.

Getaway Driver Who Provided Gun To Shooter Caught On School Bus Camera In Maryland Sentenced
A 21-year-old getaway driver implicated in a Montgomery County shootout will spend decades in prison for an incident that was caught on camera, authorities announced on Friday.
Callen Baker, 21, of Jefferson, was sentenced by a Circuit Court judge to 400 years in prison, with all but 30 suspended following a shooting in March 2023.
Baker and Zachary Ciccantelli, 24, both of Rockville, were found guilty earlier this year on an 18-count indictment that includes charges of assault and weapons offenses, according to the Montgomery County State's Attorney.

A former member of the Montgomery County Department of Police who was active during the Jan. 6, 2021 breach at the US Capitol has been convicted, federal authorities announced.
Justin Lee, 25, was convicted of two felony charges in DC for his role in the January 2021 insurrection insurrection following a bench trial.
Lee was indicted in October 2023, and on Friday, Aug. 23, federal authorities announced that he was found guilty of assaulting, resisting, or impeding certain officers and civil disorder.
