Firefighter Hospitalized, First Responders Struck By Vehicle At I-495 Crash Scene In MoCo
A firefighter was injured early on Friday morning after being struck by a vehicle while working at a crash scene on I-495 in Montgomery County, officials say. At approximately 3 a.m. on Sept. 13, several first responders were hit along the Beltway between Colesville Road and University Boulevard by a car attempting to pass another near exit 29. According to Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson Pete Piringer, several firefighters and Maryland State Police troopers were struck. A 44-year-old Calvert County man suffered critical injuries in a head-on crash that involved three other vehicles in Leonardtown on Sunday afternoon. Andrew Jason Causey, 44, of Solomons, had to be extricated from his vehicle and airlifted to an area trauma center with life-threatening injuries following a multi-vehicle crash, according to the St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office. Two from Baltimore are facing charges following a multi-county police pursuit that started with a driver ramming into an Anne Arundel County Police cruiser in a stolen vehicle. Officers from the department spotted a stolen green 1997 Honda CRV at approximately 10:15 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 5 being driven by Angela Lee Pike, 48, in the area of Arundel Mills Boulevard in Hanover. New details have been released by police following a crash that left a 39-year-old dead she struck a concrete barrier on Friday morning on Route 32 in Howard County.
