A hunter who fell out of a tree stand in West Virginia required an assist from a Maryland State Police helicopter after suffering serious injuries. At approximately 7 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 7, the state police Aviation Command was called to a remote area in a Grant County mountain, where there was a reported injured hunter who was in a tricky location. A Maryland State Police helicopter proved critical in rescuing a group of kayakers who became stranded in rough waters in the Potomac River on Sunday afternoon. At around 2:30 p.m. on Oct. 6, Maryland State Police Aviation Command based out of Frederick came to the aid of four kayakers with an assist on the ground from Montgomery County swift water rescue personnel, officials say.
