Many schools in Maryland and Virginia will be closed on Wednesday as the region continues to contend with the latest batch of winter weather that brought inches of snow and ice. These Party City Stores To Shut Down In Maryland, Virginia Amid Massive Closure
Dozens of Party City locations in the DMV region are among the hundreds set to be closed as the company announced it is going out of business. Both Maryland and Virginia were hit hard by the reported closure, which will impact approximately 800 stores across the country. Party City was founded in 1986 and is the largest retailer of party goods in North America. Maryland Man Accused Of Using Snapchat To Lure, Assault Teen In Manassas, Police Say
A Maryland man is facing serious charges after allegedly using social media to solicit and sexually assault a minor in Prince William County, authorities announced. Elias Samuel Vargas Canaviri, 22, of Silver Spring, was arrested on Nov. 20 following an investigation into the reported assault of a victim under 18 in the Manassas area between Oct. 20 and Oct. 21. Virginia Man Busted Breaking Into Maryland Homes By Cell Phone Motion Center: Police
A Virginia man who crossed over state lines to burglarize at least two Maryland homes in the middle of the day has been apprehended, authorities announced. Manassas native Gregory Jerome Stamps, 65, is facing charges in Montgomery County after being flagged by a Bethesda homeowner who caught him on camera red-handed breaking into an area home. A 28-year-old Maryland man who accosted and sexually assaulted a woman during an a harrowing drive in Virginia is behind bars, police say. Hyattsville resident Brayan Anthony Acevedo was arrested overnight in Prince William County following a reported incident where he abused a woman and refused to let her get out of his car.
