Major Crash Ties Up Traffic Along Busy Maryland Roadway
Traffic was temporarily tied up in Maryland near the Baltimore and Carroll County line after a major crash on Route 140. The Maryland State Highway Administration issued an alert at approximately 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 30 following a crash on Route 140 at Dede Road in Carroll County near the Baltimore line, causing delays. Driver Hospitalized After Being Extricated From Vehicle In Maryland
A driver had to be extricated from a vehicle after losing control, overturning, and crashing into a utility pole in Maryland, officials said. First responders responded to the 5100 block of Old National Park in Braddock shortly before 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 6, where there were reports of a one-car crash, according to a spokesperson with the Frederick County Fire and Rescue. Sinkhole Repairs On I-270 Expected To Take Longer Than Originally Thought
The massive sinkhole that took over the southbound lanes of a Maryland Highway is going to close the interstate for much longer than expected, reports WTOP. Recent and expected weather is causing delays in plans to repair the 30 foot sinkhole on I-270 in Gaithersburg, the outlet reports. Two lanes were shut down on the highway to repair the damage, which is now expected to hopefully reopen by July 4th weekend. Massive Sinkhole Shuts Lanes Of I-270 For Days
A large sinkhole on Interstate 270 caused by a broken drainage pipe is expected to cause major traffic delays as officials prepare for at least a week of road closures, reports News4. The sinkhole has closed two southbound lanes and the shoulder of Interstate 270 near the Interstate 370 exit. The hole near the Muddy Branch Road overpass is 25 feet wide, the outlet reports. Police ID Dump Truck Driver Killed In Horrific Maryland Crash
The dump truck driver killed in a crash on Aris T. Allen Boulevard Monday, May 2 was identified as a 63-year-old Glen Burnie man. Cleve Tyrone Maynard was heading east when the vehicle left the roadway and struck a bridge retaining wall just before 1 p.m., Anne Arundel County Police said. The truck then overturned into a ravine below, bringing members of the Anne Arundel County Fire Department to the scene. Maynard was taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for an autopsy. Crash Closes Major Intersection Into DC In Prince George's County
A crash that downed wires closed a major street Thursday afternoon in Bladensburg. Northbound Baltimore Avenue near Bladensburg Road was closed as of 1 p.m. The major intersection is located just northeast of Washington DC and commuters can expect long delays.
