A pedestrian struck in an October hit-and-run in Temple Hills has died from his injuries, the Prince George’s County Police Department announced on Wednesday. Deon Anthony Smith, 47, who had no fixed address, passed away on Dec. 14, nearly two months after the crash, police said. Officers were initially called to the 4300 block of St. Barnabas Road on Oct. 17 to investigate a reported hit-and-run involving a pedestrian in the area. A man has been arrested after confessing to killing a professional boxer on Christmas Eve -- who was driving his family to dinner, according to police. Markell Lewis, 25, of Clinton has been arrested for the fatal shooting in Temple Hills of 30-year-old Danny Kelly Jr., Prince George's County Police said.
