Two women from Maryland who crossed state lines are facing serious charges after being busted for multiple retail thefts in Virginia, police say.
Loredana Sardaru, 39, and Ilie Anisoara, 31, both of Ellicott City, were arrested this week in connection to a series of reported thefts at the Leesburg Premium Outlet Mall on Fort Evans Road NE.

Smile, You're On Body Camera: TJ Maxx To Equip Employees To Fight Shoplifting
To fight the recent rise in shoplifting and retail theft, shoppers could see store security employees wearing body-worn cameras to help catch thieves red-handed.
TJX, the parent company of TJ Maxx, Marshalls, Serria, HomeSense, and HomeGoods, said will begin equipping some employees with body-worn cameras similar to those worn by police, the Boston Globe reported. The company started testing the initiative last year.
The company operates nearly 3,400 stores nationwide.

Roxana Dumitru, 29, and Ionut-Robert Ionescu, 30, both of Laurel, MD, are accused of stealing approximately $6,400 worth of merchandise from the Ulta store on Village Market Boulevard in Leesburg Friday afternoon, Oct. 27, 2023, Leesburg police said.

A repeat shoplifter and suspect in a first-degree assault and armed robbery has been arrested after he returned to the scene of a crime, authorities said.
William Kenneth Freeman, 27, address unknown, was arrested and charged with first-degree assault, armed robbery, theft, and second-degree assault, according to the Charles County Sheriff's Office.
