A former Baltimore police officer is going to spend time behind bars after admitting to his role in drug and weapon conspiracies, federal authorities announced. City resident Steven Umberto Angelini was sentenced to two and a half years in prison for conspiracy to distribute cocaine and oxycodone and possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime. Baltimore SWAT Officer Killed In I-695 Crash
Anthony Ward, a member of the Baltimore Police Department's SWAT team, was killed in a car accident. The department announced Ward's death late Saturday, April 20. While police did not provide further details, Maryland State Police said Ward, 36, of Rosedale, rear-ended a Ford tow truck on the inner loop of I-695 around 4:30 p.m. just before the Jones Falls Expressway. 88-Year-Old Man Struck Dead While Crossing Pulaski Highway: Police
An 88-year-old man was struck and killed while crossing the Pulaski Highway Thursday evening, March 7, police said. John Lohmeyer was attempting to cross near the 8200 block in Rosedale when he was struck by a 2019 Jeep Cherokee around 7:30 p.m., Baltimore County Police said. Three New Wawa Stores Coming To Maryland
Three new Wawa stores are headed to Maryland, with two set to open up in the coming weeks. The popular food market and gas station will open up two locations this spring and another this summer. A store on Baltimore Avenue in College Park as well as a store on Brooks Drive in District Heights will open to customers in the coming weeks, according to Wawa. Dead Man Found In Vehicle Following Rosedale Car Fire Near Railroad Tracks
A man was found dead in a vehicle that had caught fire just off of a set of railroad tracks in Rosedale, authorities say. Officials arrived to find the vehicle fully engulfed in flames after a report of smoke in the 8500 block of Contractors Road, near the CSX Railroad Crossing at 7:50 p.m., Wednesday, July 27, according to Baltimore County police. Crews extinguished the fire and found the victim in the driver's seat of the vehicle. The investigation of the circumstances surrounding the fire is ongoing.

Baltimore County Man, 50, Killed In Rosedale Motorcycle Crash
A 50-year-old man from Baltimore County has died after he colliding with a truck while riding his motorcycle, authorities said. Mark Conklin was going north on Lillian Holt Drive in Rosedale when he collided with a Dodge Ram going the opposite direction around 11:40 a.m. on Sunday, April 17, Baltimore County Police said. Police said Conklin smashed into the vehicle as the truck was making a left turn in front of Conklin towards Trump Mill Road. Conklin was taken to a local hospital where he later died. The investigation is ongoing.

Second Teen Charged In Murder Of DoorDash Driver Cheryl McCormack
A second teenager has been arrested and charged with the first degree murder of a Maryland wife and mother who was killed while making a DoorDash delivery, authorities said. The 16-year-old suspect was arrested in Rosedale on Tuesday, Mar. 8 and charged with first degree murder of Cheryl McCormack, Baltimore Police said on Wednesday, Mar. 16.
