Man Struck, Killed By Train In Bethesda Was Suicide:

A pedestrian died by suicide in a train strike Sunday evening, April 14 in Bethesda, WMATA officials said. The unidentified man walked beyond the end gate a the North Bethesda station and intentionally placed himself in the path of the train at approximately 8 p.m., a spokesperson for the agency said. Emergency personnel responded, however, there were no signs of life and the man was pronounced dead at the scene. A teenage boy died after being shot at a Metro station in Northeast DC on Thursday afternoon, police confirmed. Officials say that a fight broke out on the platform of the Brookland-CUA Metro Station on Michigan Avenue late in the afternoon on April 4, during which at least one person began shooting. One teen involved in the fracas was struck and died from his injuries. #Update: MPD is releasing a second image of a suspect in the fatal shooting at the Brookland Metro Station. Metro Red Line Closures Draw Complaints From Commuters In DC
Some commuters in DC are up in arms as the WMATA closes down certain Red Line trains to allow for necessary repairs during the holiday season. The Metro began a two-week construction project on the Red Line to "perform critical safety repairs to the tunnel and track infrastructure, upgrade signal and communications systems, and install new platform edge lights," much to the dismay of many riders, who may now have to take shuttles. As if he knew he was being watched, an armed man locked eyes with surveillance cameras at a Virginia hotel where he burst into a hotel room and sexually assaulted a woman on Saturday, Oct. 1, according to footage and information released by police.
