Maine Mass Shooting Manhunt Ends After Suspect Found Dead: 'Threat To Public Is Over'
An urgent manhunt that began after 18 people were killed and 14 injured in a mass shooting at two locations in Lewiston, Maine, ended overnight with the discovery of the 40-year-old suspect's body. Robert Card was found dead in Lisbon, Maine, about a mile from where a white Subaru Outback he was believed to be driving was located at a boat launch. Lisbon is located about 7 miles southeast of Lewiston. Maryland Helicopter Aquatic Rescue Team Polishes Skills On Potomac River
The Maryland Helicopter Aquatic Rescue Team, or HART, drew some attention as they were training on the Potomac River, officials say. The team practiced using swift water rescue boats and a National Guard helicopter to make sure they are prepared for rescue missions in the unpredictable waters. The team, which worked side by side with the Maryland Army National Guard said that "every day is a training day", as they continuously prepped for everyday and extraordinary emergencies.
