127-Year-Old Firehouse Destroyed By Massive Fire In DC All hands were on deck overnight as crews from throughout the area were called in to help battle a massive two-alarm fire that took down part of a DC firehouse that has stood since the 1800s.  Fire crews had their hands full on Friday night as flames tore through the former firehouse, which was under renovation in the 1600 block of North Capitol Street.
