Mayday Called During Two-Alarm Maryland House Fire
All occupants inside a St. Mary's County home were able to escape a two-alarm fire that broke out in Chaptico on Monday morning, according to officials. First responders from the Mechanicsville Volunteer Fire Department and nearby agencies were called around 10:45 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 5 to a working basement fire with mayday in the 36300 block of Notley Woods Lane. Man Convicted For Dog Fighting In Maryland
Animals have been seized and are being rehabilitated after a Maryland man was convicted for his role in a dogfighting operation, according to the St. Mary’s County State’s Attorney’s Office. Damien Terrell Wilson has been convicted of five felony counts for dog fighting and 14 misdemeanor counts related to dog fighting activities following his arrest in 2021, State’s Attorney Richard Fritz announced on Tuesday, July 12.
