A convicted felon from Maryland is facing charges in Virginia following an incident that led to an officer-involved shooting in Arlington, authorities announced.
Charles County resident El-Amin Mutee, 44, of Waldorf has been charged by police in Arlington with brandishing and felon in possession of a firearm, police in Arlington said on Saturday, Oct. 15.
Police say that shortly after 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 14, officers from the Arlington Police Department responded to the 21000 block of Shirlington Road, where there were reports of multiple shots fired.

DC Man Sentenced For Role In Night Of Violence Across Maryland, Virginia
A Washington, DC man will spend more than a decade in prison for his role in a day of terror that involved a violent armed robbery and two armed carjackings in Maryland and Virginia, federal officials announced.
Rashaun Onley, 23, was sentenced to 14 years in federal prison, followed by five years of supervised release, on federal charges of committing an armed commercial robbery, carjacking, and using, carrying, and brandishing a firearm during and in relation to a crime of violence.
The violence began in the early morning of Feb. 5, 2021.

Arlington Man Who Burned, Stabbed Virginia Mother To Death Apprehended: Police
Police have arrested the man who stabbed a Falls Church woman to death before setting her on fire, officials said.
On August 10 at around 3 p.m., police responded to the 2900 block of Willston Place where they found Silvia Abacay, 40, of Falls Church, on fire and suffering from multiple stab wounds, according to the Fairfax County Police Department.
Fire officials put out the flames and Abacay was pronounced dead the scene, police reported.
