Prince George’s County Stabbing Suspect, 21, Arrested In North Carolina: Police

A man was arrested in North Carolina on accusations of fatally stabbing his 70-year-old housemate during an argument in Prince George’s County in early March, police said.

Jose Hernandez Martinez, 21, was charged with first- and second-degree murder and other offenses, the PGPD announced Wednesday, April 3.

The charges come after officers were called to a home on the 11400 block of Queen Anne Avenue in Beltsville to investigate a stabbing and pronounced Lucas Pineda Cardona, dead at the scene on Sunday, March 10.

Investigators determined that the two lived in the home together and believe Martinez stabbed Cardona during an argument.

Martinez was taken into custody in Pittsboro, North Carolina on Tuesday, April 2 with help from the North Carolina State Bureau. He remains there awaiting extradition to Prince George’s County.
