A District man will spend decades in prison after pleading guilty mid-trial for an attempted murder that was caught on camera in Maryland, authorities announced. The 22-year-old saw the writing on the wall and admitted his guilt in the middle of a jury trial earlier this year in connection to his role in a shooting in a well-known Silver Spring alleyway following a wild chase in June 2022, according to the Montgomery County State's Attorney's Office. A group that preyed on the unhoused community during a series of violent assaults in Montgomery County earlier this month remains at large two weeks later, police say. Surveillance video of six wanted suspects who attacked at least three men and one woman has been released as investigators attempt to identify and locate those involved. School Bus Lands In Community Garden After Crash With SUV In Maryland
A school bus crashed through a fence and into a community garden in Montgomery County, officials say. Five people were injured in a collision involving an SUV and school bus before 8 a.m. on Monday, May 20, a Montgomery County Fire and EMS spokesperson said. The crash was reported in the area of Fenton Street and Philadelphia Avenue in Silver Spring.
