Bus Stop Destroyed After Car Caroms Into It Following Multi-Vehicle Maryland Crash
Several lanes were temporarily blocked in Montgomery County on Wednesday morning after a multi-vehicle crash sent one through a bus stop in Hillandale. Montgomery County Fire and Rescue personnel were called to the area of New Hampshire Avenue and Chalmers Road at around 7:30 a.m. on Oct. 9, where there was a crash involving two vehicles, officials said. MTA Metro Subway Stations To Close For Weekend Test Of New System In Maryland
There will be service disruptions for Maryland subway riders this weekend, officials are cautioning. All MTA Metro Subway stations will be closed to allow the organization to test a new Communications Based Train Control system that should be fortuitous for travelers following the closure. Officials said that "the CTBC is a critical piece of infrastructure that will support the new Metro Subway railcars that will begin service in mid-2025." This marks the first test.
