John Morozin, a decorated Baltimore police officer and an expert martial artist, died unexpectedly at 55 while Jiu-Jitsu, according to members of the Alvin C Palmer Memorial FOP Lodge in Philadelphia.
Morozin, of New Freedom, PA had a long and distinguished career in law enforcement, serving with multiple police departments before most recently joining the Baltimore Police Department, his obituary states.

Son Charged With Murdering Mother Inside Family Home In Maryland, Police Say
A 25-year-old Baltimore man is behind bars after being accused of killing his mother in their Western District home, police said.
Ajay Wiggins, 25, has been charged with first-degree murder in connection with the death of his mother, 64-year-old Joyce Gaskins, who was found unresponsive last month.
Authorities say that Gaskins was found shortly after 2:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 15 inside a home in the 1600 block of Druid Hill Avenue.
Police arrived at the scene to find Gaskins dead.

A Baltimore man who carjacked a police detective at gunpoint and fled in his unmarked vehicle will spend the next 12 years in federal prison, authorities announced.
Trevon Gardner, 23, was sentenced Friday, Dec. 6, by U.S. District Judge Stephanie A. Gallagher to 12 years behind bars, followed by five years of supervised release, for the armed carjacking of Baltimore Police Department Detective Aaron Cain, according to the US Attorney’s Office.
The incident occurred on May 3, 2022, at a 7-Eleven store on South Hanover Street in Baltimore’s Cherry Hill neighborhood.
