Maryland State Police are investigating a tragic hit-and-run incident in Anne Arundel County that claimed the life of a 7-year-old boy on Sunday night. The boy, who was a rear passenger in a 2011 Mazda 3 driven by his grandmother, 66-year-old Hagerstown resident Lorraine O'Neill, was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency personnel following the crash, police say. Some lanes were blocked on Monday morning in Anne Arundel County when a tractor-trailer overturned and spilled debris into the northbound lanes of I-97. An alert was issued by police shortly after 11:30 a.m. on Nov. 4 when the truck - for unknown reasons - crashed near the ramp to westbound Route 32. Wrong-Way Driver Killed In Head-On Maryland Crash, Police Say
A 40-year-old wrong-way driver was killed in a head-on crash in Anne Arundel County late on Thursday night, police say. Glen Burnie resident Christopher Gianfrancesco has been identified by investigators as the person killed in a three-vehicle crash involving two other drivers at around 10 p.m. on June 27.
