Man Robbing Elderly Relative Stabbed Caretaker In Maryland, Shot By K9 Officer: Sheriff A 28-year-old man who targeted an elderly relative before stabbing a caregiver attempting to intervene in Charles County was hospitalized in an officer-involved shooting in Waldorf, according to the sheriff's office. Thomas James Roberts, Jr. was hospitalized on Friday, Sept. 13 following an investigation that was launched earlier this week after an incident involving he, a relative, and the relative's caregiver.
