First responders were called at around 9:45 a.m. on Oct. 31 to the 3500 block of Pear Tree Court in Silver Spring, where there was a reported fire in the third floor of a four-story building.

Upon arrival, a Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said upwards of 80 firefighters were met by "heavy smoke" showing from the upper floors and they were advised there were people still inside.

Six people, including juveniles, on the top floor required assistance and were rescued by ladders and an area tower, while all other residents were all accounted for.

No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is now under investigation.
