The county's Department of Health issued an alert on Friday, Nov. 8 advising that anyone who came into contact with a raccoon on or near Trailing Ivy Lane, not far from Jones Elementary School in Severna Park, should contact officials after the animal was captured on Thursday, Nov. 7. Lifeguards Save Young Girl's Life At Community Pool In Maryland With Swift CPR Fast-acting lifeguards are being credited for saving a young girl's life after she stopped breathing at a community pool in Maryland on Monday night.  The Anne Arundel County Fire Department received a 911 call at approximately 7:30 p.m. on June 10 from the Whittier Community Pool in Severna Park, where a girl was pulled from the water by on-duty lifeguards and was not breathing. According to officials, the lifeguards immediately began providing medical care, including CPR, and were able to revive the girl before paramedics arrived.
