An apparently impaired driver struck a Maryland State Police trooper who was inside his patrol vehicle in a work zone in Montgomery County early on Wednesday morning, officials say. Montgomery Village resident Nithya Ramani, 37, has been charged with driving under the influence after crashing at around 1 a.m. on June 19. New Details Emerge In Sen. Fetterman's Maryland Crash
A witness told Maryland State Police that Sen. John Fetterman was driving over the speed limit when his car rear-ended another on Sunday, June 9, according to a crash report. Fetterman, his wife Gisele, and the other driver were all taken to the hospital after the I-70 crash. Fetterman's office said he was treated for a bruised shoulder and later released. Woman Killed In Single-Vehicle Crash On I-97 In Anne Arundel County: State Police
A 29-year-old woman was killed in a single-vehicle crash overnight in Anne Arundel County, according to Maryland State Police. Annapolis resident Shannon Rita Alan was identified by investigators as the driver who crashed shortly before 10 p.m. on Thursday, June 6 in the southbound lanes of I-97 near Route 50. According to a preliminary investigation, Alan was traveling on a ramp to Route 50 East and for unknown reasons left the road and struck an embankment. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
