One person was hospitalized overnight, and a suspect is in custody following a shooting outside a Harford County business late on Monday afternoon. Aberdeen resident resident Justin Matthew Schlotterbeck, 41, has been identified as the alleged gunman who left Bel Air 27-year-old Bel Air native Eric Chi Fonong Igwacho with serious injuries in Abingdon. Police in Baltimore are seeking the public's assistance as they attempt to identify human remains found decomposing more than a year ago. Late in the afternoon of Sept. 5, 2023, officers were called to the back of the 800 block of North Fremont Avenue to probe reports of a dead body that was found in the area. A 56-year-old man who has been a Boy Scout leader for the past five years at a Howard County church is behind bars following an investigation into the alleged sexual abuse of a minor. Ellicott City resident James Alan Soltysiak has been arrested after a minor disclosed the alleged abuse, which began in May, last month to an adult, who contacted the police, leading to the probe and his arrest last week. Cases of whooping cough are five times higher than at this time a year ago, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is warning. A Maryland State Police helicopter was required to rescue a hiker who was injured after slipping and falling from the top of a cliff onto the top of a train tunnel in Carroll County.
